5 months (a little late)

I had to include Toby's 5 month picture that I really took on his 5 month birthday (Nov 27th), but just now downloaded to the computer. I had to get it in there before he turned 6 months. Boy how time is flying by!!! Why does Toby have to grow so fast? He is 19 pounds now and is in 12 months clothing. This picture was a wild one because he really wanted to sit up, but he doesn't sit up perfectly and ends up falling over before the picture is taken.

Thumbsucker!

Toby loves his thumb!
Caleb loves snickers candy bars. On Friday I had to chase Clifford (our dog that is about to become dog jerky) because he keeps breaking through our electric fence. He always ends up at our neighbor/friend's house. Well Caleb was playing in the car and when I got back I saw all these candy crumbs in the front seat. He had eaten the entire snickers candy bar and a few small packs of M & M's! I don't normally keep candy around, but a friend had given some to me because M & M's sponsors a car her husband works for in Racing....so she has lots of extras. I had forgotten that I had left it in the car. Let me tell you Caleb was wired after that with the combonation of being tired he was quite a bit to handle. This is our Thanksgiving photo. We spent the day with our friends the McMullens where I had my first fried Turkey and it was yummy.

I would put more pics on, but for some reason this thing is slow. So maybe next time.

Just a little update

I thought I would pull some pics out of the vault. I can't believe this is Caleb. I'm actually having problems finding the pics I downloaded....so I as I'm searching I'm finding the cutest photos...ahhh memory lane.
whoa! what a lot of boys! "The Atchens" as Caleb would call them.
All smiles...

Here is the Tobmeister nearly crawling. Sometimes he gets mad and starts to move.

4 months old

4 Months old. Handsome guy huh? Toby went to the Dr. and found out he has an ear infection! We had no idea! He had no fever and wasn't really very fussy. Toby weighs 17 lbs 7 oz. I think he's 26 inches. Basically in the 90th percentile.
Halloween. Caleb said it was his favorite Halloween so far.
Caleb and Clifford Bain are becoming friends. Guess we won't be using the swing much longer....Still puts him to sleep though.
Ken's Parent's came out to watch Caleb while we went to some friends wedding. They brought Caleb's cousin Josie(4yrs)...she of course loved Toby. She is getting practice for her new baby brother coming in March.
We have our own baby buddha.
Toby
rolled
over!
yea!
We went to a wedding in New Hampshire. Toby's first wedding. Isn't he dressed lovely for a wedding? It was a little chilly there.
Isn't this your typical pose for a bride?

Sebastian is from Germany and is one Ken's Fraternity brothers from Central Missouri State.

Autumn Leaves & pumpkin patches

We have had a busy October as I'm sure everyone has. Ken passed his Contractor's liscence to build homes in the State of North Carolina-so if any of you want a house in NC--Ken can build you one! Also, our 5 year old dog (Elliott) caught Rocky Mountain Spotted fever (aka lyme disease) and $600 dollars later he is much better....Not sure why it cost so much to figure that out, but hey maybe the vetrinarian wanted to go to Hawaii for vacation. (Did I say that? I better not give her my blog address).
Caleb at his pre-school pumpkin patch.
Caleb with his friend Deegan at the pumpkin patch our church had.
Brothers...pals.
We went on our fall trip to the mountains and had a picnic. Caleb loves picnics. Sorry about being able to see his food. Caleb kept saying, " I want to go to the mountains." I kept reminding him we were already in the mountains.

We just wanted to share some of the beautiful trees.
Here we four are overlooking Wiseman's view. Our favorite place to visit every Fall.

3 months old!!!!!

This one is 6 months old. Y'all are gonna think we are crazy, but we have two Elliotts now. His name is Clifford Bain Griffin. I made the mistake of leaving him in the garage and not in the Kennel and he chewed up one of Caleb's toys (tow-mater). Caleb walked around crying,"I don't like Clifford Bain anymore." But he has gotten over it now.
My how time flys...Toby is 3 months old now. Can't believe it! That's how long Caleb was in his cast and it seemed like a whole lot longer. Speaking of which, Caleb's cyst is heading in the right direction as far as healing goes. We won't really be able to tell much until after a year.

Bathtime...Doesn't the water look extra blue? We have fizzy tablets that turn the water colors...like kids don't have enough fun in the bath. We didn't buy them--they were in our wal-mart sack when we got home.
Caleb at his first Dental appoitment. My friend April reminded me unintentionally to get one for Caleb when she sent pictures of her own little guy in the Dentist chair. Really not much cleaning happened--just an introduction to the tools and all the other utensils that are strange to a 3 year old.

Sweet baby.
Ken and his college friend, Sebastian. Sebastion is from Germany, but recently moved here to North Carolina from New Jersey.
Caleb fell asleep on the ottoman at our friends house. We should've known something was wrong because Caleb NEVER falls asleep like that. Sure enough Caleb had a temp of 102 degrees. Caleb has only had a fever over 1oo three times in his life....so it's quite rare.
Caleb put smily face stickers on Toby.
Guess Toby wasn't in a smilin' mood.
He was in a smilin' mood here.

brothers...aren't they sweet

We're not in Kansas anymore...

This is a very long blog. I'm sorry, but we have had a busy September so we have lots of pictures. Toby smilin' again.
First Day of Pre-School.
Toby's first plane trip and Caleb's 20th. They were so good on the plane. It was nice to have Ken's help though...much easier...
Toby and Papa. We went to KC for Skip's 60th birthday party. Nana and the cousins (Josie, Caleb, Toby, & Colin)

Aunt Melanie reading to Josie, Caleb, and Toby.
Caleb cleaning and brushing his dinosaur that he named Rojo.
We went to The T-rex restuarant at a beautiful new shopping Center in KC called Legends. It was neat. It had legends of Kansas History painted on the walls and really great shops. Caleb loved this dinosaur place.
Me and Toby one Kanobi

Toby smiling again.
We went to Shawnee Lake and had a picnic. It was so beautiful--the weather and everything. I forgot how nice Kansas was in September. Micah (my sister's husband had to work--we missed him though).

Caleb wearing his MeMaw's glasses. Caleb with his Cousin Addison (6 mo) in the rojo chair. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end. We had to leave our families and go back to North Carolina where sweet Elliott was waiting for us. We had a really good time and miss our famlies very much.
